Window and door answers

Everything you might want to know about working with a local window and door team in Western Colorado. Still curious? Explore our windows, doors and service areas.

Getting started

Innovate Window and Door is a locally owned window and door company based in Montrose, Colorado, founded in 2023 by Jeremy Holzmeister. Jeremy was born and raised in the area and brings more than fifteen years of experience specializing in windows and doors, along with over twenty years in residential construction. We serve homeowners and businesses across Montrose and the wider Western Colorado region with premium products and expert installation.

Yes. Every project begins with a free in-home consultation. We measure your openings, discuss styles, materials and energy performance, and answer your questions with no pressure and no obligation. From there we prepare a clear, written quote so you know exactly what is included before you decide.

We install ProVia, Andersen and Pella, three of the most respected manufacturers in the country, and we source commercial doors through local and regional suppliers. Working across multiple lines lets us match the right product to your home, your goals and your budget rather than pushing a single brand.

Windows

Quality replacement windows typically last twenty to forty years, depending on the material, the climate and the quality of installation. Vinyl and fiberglass frames from manufacturers like ProVia and Andersen are built to resist Western Colorado's intense sun and temperature swings. Proper installation is just as important as the product, which is why we seal and flash every opening carefully.

Common signs include drafts you can feel near the glass, condensation or fog trapped between panes, frames that stick or no longer lock smoothly, visible rot or damage, and rising heating and cooling bills. If your windows are older single-pane or early double-pane units, they likely lose far more energy than today's models. During a consultation we assess each opening and tell you honestly what needs attention.

For most homes, yes. Energy-efficient windows with Low-E coatings and double or triple-pane glass reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, which lowers energy bills and makes rooms more comfortable year round. They also cut condensation and reduce fading of furnishings. We can walk you through the energy performance ratings during your consultation.

We install a full range of window styles, including double-hung, casement, awning, bay, bow, picture, sliding, garden and specialty shapes, in materials from vinyl to fiberglass. The right style depends on the room, the view and how you want the window to operate. We help you weigh the options so each opening gets the style that fits best.

Doors

We install fiberglass, steel and wood entry doors, along with french doors, patio doors, sliding glass doors, folding and multi-slide door systems, and storm and screen doors. Fiberglass offers low maintenance and strong energy performance, steel is durable and secure, and wood delivers classic warmth. We help you choose the right material and style for your entrance.

Yes, and it is one of our favorite projects. Folding and multi-slide glass door systems from Andersen and Pella create wide walls of moving glass that connect your living space to the patio, the light and the view. They are ideal for Western Colorado homes that want to make the most of the surrounding scenery.

We do. Through local and regional suppliers we install commercial hollow metal doors, fire-rated doors in all standard ratings, aluminum storefront and glass doors, and architectural wood doors. These projects often carry code requirements such as fire ratings and accessibility, and we specify and install to meet them.

A fire-rated door is tested to resist the passage of fire and smoke for a set period, such as twenty, forty-five, sixty or ninety minutes. They are required by code in many commercial and multi-family settings, including stairwells, mechanical rooms and unit entries. If your building needs them, we can supply and install doors and frames that meet the required rating.

Process and pricing

We start with a free consultation and precise measurements, help you select products, and provide a written quote. Once you approve it we order your made-to-order windows and doors, schedule installation, and complete the work with careful preparation, sealing and finishing. We end with a walkthrough so you understand how everything operates.

Cost depends on the product, the size and number of openings, and the complexity of the installation, so the best way to get an accurate figure is a free in-home consultation and written quote. We offer competitive pricing and explain exactly what is included, so there are no surprises. We are happy to work with a range of budgets and recommend the option that delivers the best value for your project.

Most of the timeline is spent building your made-to-order windows and doors, which typically takes a few weeks. The installation itself is usually completed in a day or two for a residential project. We provide a realistic schedule up front and keep you informed at every stage so you always know what to expect.
